Galle Activities

There is the beach on which you can lounge around. Also some organized surfing happens at Ahangama. This spot is less crowded than the one further north. It is also home to stilt fishing, a technique where the fisherman literally sits on stilts in the middle of the ocean to catch fish. It makes quite a sight when you see it for the first time.

Other than that there is little else to do in the town besides stroll around looking at the old Portuguese style and Dutch-style buildings in the old town area. Some more adventurous souls might like to take up the organized trekking and camping tours to nearby locales.
