Where & What to Eat in Kandy

Despite having the distinction of being the second largest city in Sri Lanka after Colombo there is not too much of a night life. It is a relatively quiet and peaceful town. This does not mean that Kandy lacks good cuisine. True to its mixed heritage the city provides you with a variety of cuisine from local seafood to long forgotten European delicacies. You can even taste some Indian food here including northern and south Indian food.

If local food is getting too much and you want good old fried chicken, head for the KFC in central Kandy. You might find it difficult to find it in the clutter, but your tuk tuk driver is sure to know the way. Just as sure as he is sure to get you to Pizza Hut in case you are interested in good old western food.
